TASS, July 22. /TASS/. The US SpaceX aerospace company launched its Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Canadian Telesat company’s Telstar 19 Vantage communications satellite from the Cape Canaveral site. The launch was broadcast live on SpaceX’s website.

SpaceX in a tweet confirmed the successful deployment of the satellite to a geostationary transfer orbit.

The Telstar 19 Vantage satellite, or Telstar 19V, will provide high-throughput communications to users in South America, the Caribbean, northeast Canada and the north Atlantic. The satellite weighs more than seven tonnes and is the heaviest commercial communications satellite ever launched. Telstar 19V is expected to operate for about 15 years.
