On Wednesday, the trial against oppositionist Alexei Navalny will begin in Kirov. The oppositionists from all Russian regions are planning to arrive and support the popular blogger. The Opposition Coordination Council can hold a visiting meeting in the city. The staff of Alexei Navalny’s supporters already works in the city.
Member of the Opposition Coordination Council Alexei Gaskarov told the RBC daily that the Opposition Coordination Council is discussing a possible visiting meeting on April 20. One of the founders of the Party of December Five Roman Dobrokhotov is aware that the participants of different opposition initiatives are going to arrive in the Kirov Region. He predicts that the trial in the Kirovles criminal case will steal the show of the trial against Pussy Riot. The protesters in Kirov will act according to the process of the trial and also depending from the schedule of the court sessions.
The Kirov office of Smart Russia (a party, which is being formed on the basis of the pro-Kremlin movement Nashi) is planning to hold the pickets against Alexei Navalny. Meanwhile, representatives of the federal leadership of Nashi and the Youth Guard of the United Russia Party told the RBC daily that they are not planning any actions in Kirov.
