Another corruption scandal is unfolding in the Russian Interior Ministry

MOSCOW, April 24 (Itar-Tass) —  Another corruption scandal is unfolding in the Russian Interior Ministry, as a result of which one of the most secret police units - the 38th division of the “K” Directorate (Interior Ministry’s department for the fight against computer crime and illicit trafficking of electronic tools and special equipment) may be liquidated. Accordind to the Izvestia daily, an officer of the division – Major Andrei Yurov was detained in Moscow when he was taking a bribe. The investigation believes that the policeman promised to a Moscow businessman a copy of secret materials on the inspection of his company for a bribe of 100 thousand euro. In recent years, the department’s officers have appeared in the centre of criminal affairs - illegally wiretapped competitors of the casino owner Ivan Nazarov or counterfeited documents on a contraband case of the Euroset retail mobile phone network.
