Duma oppostion may get governor seats

The Kremlin has demonstrated readiness to share some powers and responsibility with the system opposition

MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) —  The Kremlin has demonstrated readiness to share some powers and responsibility with the system opposition. It became known at the end of the past week that State Duma deputy from the LDPR faction Alexei Ostrovsky will become governor of the Smolensk region. Ostrovsky’s nomination is a reward to LDPR for the good behavior of its leader, believes political analyst Yevgeny Minchenko. “Vladimir Zhirinovsky has recently denounced the ‘orange plague,’ behaved calmly during the election, not trying to win, has not criticized Putin. I do not rule out that LDPR will get some ministerial post in the future Russian government,” Minchenko told the Moscow News.
