Confused route of Moscow opposition

The organizing committee of the February 4 march is going to submit an application for holding the protest action to the Moscow authorities on Friday

The organizing committee of the February 4 march is going to submit an application for holding the protest action to the Moscow authorities on Friday. According to The Nezavisimaya Gazeta, the mayor’s office is not going to discuss the initial route – from the Kaluzhsky Square by the Garden Ring. This is why the organizing committee of the march is going to suggest two or three similar routes by the central streets of Moscow. Reports on preparations for the presidential elections are coming from the Moscow Region: polling stations in the constituencies, where the ruling party got less than 20 per cent of the votes, are being closed. Civil activists are going to hold a series of information pickets with appeals to take part in the march two days before the protest action. One-man pickets, which, according to the law, do not require special coordination, are planned to be held outside the main metro stations. Opposition leaders Boris Nemtsov, Ilya Yashin and Sergey Udaltsov gave their preliminary consent to take part in the march.
