MOSCOW, September 7. /TASS/. A new wartime organization of the Central Military District will be tried during the snap check ordered on Monday. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has tasked Defense Ministry leaders in a meeting at the National Defense Control Center.
The minister ordered an exercise of the territorial defense forces of the military district, designed to test the new wartime organization of the military district.
At the meeting, Shoigu tasked Army Commander-In-Chief Oleg Salyukov with planning and conducting an operational exercise of the Central Military District forces and Airborne Force in the course of the surprise check.
The service chief also was told to supervise the preparations of the combined-arms large units for operating during the check.
