MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. Over the past 24 hours crews of military-transport aviation of the Russian Air Force from an Ilyushin Il-76 (NATO reporting name: Candid) dropped 42,000 tonnes of water to extinguish a seat of wildfire in Buryatia, the defence ministry’s press service said on Sunday.
On Sunday, the aviation group will make several flights on aircraft and helicopters to monitor and extinguish seats of wildfires in Buryatia and in the Irkutsk region.
The aviation group is using four Il-76 and 68 helicopters, the defence ministry said.
