Russia's top diplomat urges US to resume equal dialogue

Sergey Lavrov reminded that Russia’s cooperation with Washington was frozen by the US

MOSCOW, September 1. /TASS/. Russia calls on the United States to get back on track of an equal dialogue based on mutual respect, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Speaking at the International State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in Moscow on Tuesday, Lavrov reminded that Russia’s cooperation with Washington "was frozen by our American partners."

"They decided to punish us, and as the saying goes - love cannot be forced," he said. "If they get back on track of an equal and mutually respectful dialogue, the matter doesn’t rest with us," he stressed.
