Russia holds tank, motor rifle and artillery reservists’ readiness check

During the check over 1,000 reservists will be mobilized, the press office of the Central Military District said

MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry is holding a mobilization readiness check for tank, motor rifle and artillery reservists, the press office of the Central Military District said on Wednesday.

The check is being held on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk Region in the Volga area and the Irkutsk Region in East Siberia.

On Tuesday, the Defense Ministry called up reservists for mobilization readiness drills in the Voronezh Region in central Russia.

"During the check [in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ulyanovsk and Irkutsk Regions], over 1,000 reservists will be mobilized. The reservists have already practiced the issues of control alerts, received military uniform, undergone individual training, passed control tests for combat hardware driving and fulfilled the standards of firing from small arms and grenade launchers," the press office said.

"The servicemen called up from the reserve are taking measures at depots of the Central Military District to activate the hardware and carry out its maintenance to eventually perform marches and accomplish tasks at shooting ranges," the press office said.

"In accordance with their military duties, the reservists will be sent for training to motor rifle, tank and artillery units of the Central Military District," the press office said.

Russia’s Defense Ministry earlier held mobilization training exercises with the bodies of executive power and local self-governance bodies to practice thier transition to work in wartime.
