ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), August 25. /TASS/. The United Instrument-Making Corporation, which is part of the Rostec State Corporation, has presented Russia’s first unmanned DP-29 blimp at the MAKS-2015 exhibition, the corporation’s representative told TASS on Tuesday.

DP-29 is an experimental medium-range unmanned airship with low carrying capacity manufactured by the Dolgoprudny Design Bureau of Automatics.

"Within this project, the Dolgoprudny Design Bureau developed the technology of making unmanned airships, the system of its automatic control, load carrying structures, methods of placing payloads on board and its management," the corporation’s representative said.

"The airship successfully underwent testing at the test range in Krasnoarmeisk (in the Moscow region) and in the Vladimir region (in Central Russia)," he added.

The Dolgoprudny Design Bureau of Automatics is ready to proceed with the manufacturing of an airship of this type to deal with specific military and technical problems: high-altitude reconnaissance, aerial photography and mapping, delivery and automatic cargo drop. The bureau is also ready to manufacture a multi-purpose airship capable of carrying payloads of various types.
