Over 8,000 pieces of weaponry to enter service in Russia’s Western Military District

Saturday marks the 151th anniversary since the establishment of the Western Military District

MOSCOW, August 22. /TASS/. The troops of Russia’s Western Military District will receive more than 8,000 newest pieces of weaponry and military equipment by the year-end, chief spokesperson Oleg Kotchetkov has told reporters.

The forces will get Sukhoi Su-35S (NATO reporting name Flanker-E) supermaneuverable multirole fighters, Mi-28N helicopters, Tornado-G multiple rocket launchers, S-400 new generation anti-aircraft weapon systems, Pantsir-S weapon systems and T-72B3 tanks.
