CAIRO, August 20. /TASS/. Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will leave for a three-day trip to Russia next week, his spokesman said on Thursday.
The president's visit, running from August 25 to 27, and his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin "will take place against the background of good relationship existing between the countries and reflect mutual willingness to strengthen strategic relations between the two nations," spokesman Alaa Youssef said of the planned trip.
Egyptian media reported earlier this week that al-Sisi had indefinitely postponed his visit to Russia following his mother’s death.
The president's mother Malika Titani passed away on Monday, August 17, after a long illness.
