MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. Russia’s Air Force pilots have received 300 newly-built and upgraded planes and helicopters of late, and another 150 are expected to be delivered by the end of the year, the commander of Russia's Air Force, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev told the media on Wednesday.
"The process of rearming the Air Force units is proceeding in keeping with the original schedule. Lately, 300 aircraft have been delivered to air bases and air regiments. Another 150 aircraft are to be received by the end of this year," he said.
Three hundred crews have been retrained to fly new types of aircraft. Their total flight record is about 40,000 hours.
"All of them successfully fly the newly-received planes and helicopters. More than 100 crews have undergone theoretic retraining and begun to acquire practical skills to operate new air technologies. The process of training and retraining flight personnel is continuing non-stop," Bondarev said.
