Russia's new MiG-35S fighter scheduled to enter service 2018

Thirty planes of this type or more will be purchased, the commander of Russia’s Air and Space Forces says

MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. MiG-35S fighter planes will begin to enter service as of 2018, the commander of Russia’s Air and Space Forces, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev, told the media on Wednesday.

"The MiG-35S is being developed under a contract with the Defense Ministry. Research and development is to be completed in 2017. After government certification tests it will be authorized for service. Thirty planes of this type or more will be purchased," Bondarev said.
