First International Army Games visited by over 250,000 spectators — Defense Ministry

RYAZAN, August 11. /TASS/. More than 250,000 people have visited the first-ever Army Games underway in Russia, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Tuesday.

"By now, more than 250,000 people in 11 Russian regions have had an opportunity to watch these Games live," he told journalists.

The first International Army Games involving teams from 17 countries are underway in Russia from August 1 through August 15.

On Saturday, the Game’s chief referee Dmitry Gorbatenko said the Games had been visited by about 170,000 spectators. The most popular discipline, in his words, was Tank Biathlon, which had drawn 80,000 spectators.
