Russia is worried over attempts to whip up confrontation at the United Nations Security Council by means of initiating obviously flunking resolutions

MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Russia is worried over attempts to use the United Nations Security Council as an instrument to stir up confrontation and propaganda and is against such attempts, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.

"Russia is worried over attempts to whip up confrontation at the United Nations Security Council by means of initiating obviously flunking resolutions," he said answering a TASS question. "The five permanent members [of the UN Security Council] bear special responsibility, we are against attempts to use the UN Security Council as a propaganda instrument."
