SAO PAULO, August 11. /TASS/. The 2019 WorldSkills competition will take place in Russia’s Kazan, capital of the Tatarstan republic, the jury has announced at the WorldSkills General Assembly in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Belgium’s Charleroi and France’s capital Paris also fought for the fight to host the competition, but the majority of the jury voted in favor of Kazan.
WorldSkills is an international event held every two years since 1946 to motivate young people from around the globe to showcase their skills and abilities.
Russia was accepted as a WSI member in 2012 at a general assembly of the non-governmental organization in South Korea.
In July 2013, Russia took part in the competition in Germany’s Leipzig and came 41st together with Chile, Estonia, Iceland, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
