Russian fighter jets carry out unique flight with night aerial refueling

The refueling was conducted at an altitude of 4,000-5,000 meters

MOSCOW, August 3. /TASS/. Military pilots of Russia’s Central Military District have carried out a unique six-hour flight aboard the Mikoyan MiG-31BM interceptor aircraft during joint exercises of operational and tactical aviation and an anti-aircraft defense division, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"The combat aircraft of this type have carried out a non-stop flight from the airport Domna (Trans-Baikal Territory) to the airport Sokol (Falcon) (Perm Territory). The flight, during which the crews of the MiG-31MB aircraft covered more than 4,000 kilometers, was carried out with three night aerial refuelings," the report says.

The refueling was conducted at an altitude of 4,000-5,000 meters, the press service said.

The crews of the interceptor aircraft who successfully performed the training and combat missions have been recommended for state decorations by the command of the Central Military District.
