MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry has cut expenditures by 12 billion rubles (roughly $200 million) by giving up excessive types of uniforms, a ministry spokesman said on Friday.
‘We have cut expenditures on uniforms by 12 billion rubles," the spokesman said.
The Defense Ministry has held an inventory of all types of uniform for servicemen, from privates to top officers, to find out which outfits are really needed, the spokesman said.
In particular, there was no need for parade uniform for conscripts as they wore it only once at best, the spokesman said.
