Russia's Defense Ministry prepares 10 ranges for International Army Games

The military of Russia, Angola, Armenia, Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kuwait, Mongolia, Serbia and Tajikistan will take part in the competitions

MOSCOW, July 29. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry has prepared 10 Russian military ranges for international military contests, which will be held in the Alabino settlement near Moscow within the framework of the International Army Games from August 1 to 15. The "Tank Biathlon" and "Suvorov Onslaught" contest participants are engaged in the final training on Wednesday.

Russian Defense Ministry’s press service reported that "tank crews of teams from 13 states will fire more than 400 hollow charge shells." "Tank crews of the Russian Armed Forces will drive the T-72B3 tanks, red colour, competing with the teams from Angola and Mongolia in the second round. Tank crews from Armenia, Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kuwait, Nicaragua, Serbia and Tajikistan will compete in other three races of the Tank Biathlon course."

All the teams, except the national team of China, use Russian tanks in the contest. During the Tank Biathlon the Chinese crews will be driving the ZTZ-96A (96A type) tanks, and during Suvorov Onslaught — the WZ501 (Type 86) tanks.

The International Army Games will be held at 10 Russian military ranges. In addition to the teams of the Russian Armed Forces, the military of Angola, Armenia, Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kuwait, Mongolia, Serbia and Tajikistan will take part in the competitions.
