Russia’s Defense Ministry board to discuss reinforcing army grouping on Kuril Islands

The board will consider the issues of fulfilling the plans of the Defense Ministry’s work until 2020 in the Central and Eastern Military Districts

MOSCOW, July 24. /TASS/. The board of Russia’s Defense Ministry headed by Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu will discuss improving the structure of the army grouping in the Arctic and on the Kuril Islands, the ministry’s press office reported on Friday.

"In accordance with the agenda, the board will consider the issues of fulfilling the plans of the Defense Ministry’s work until 2020 in the Central and Eastern Military Districts, including the issues of improving the structure of the grouping of forces stationed in the Arctic and on the Kuril Islands," the press office said.

The Defense Ministry’s board will also discuss draft federal target programs offered for elaboration by the ministry’s specialists, the press office said.
