UFA, July 7. /TASS/. An international press center of the summits of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that will be held from July 8 through July 10 opens in the city of Ufa in western Urals opens on Tuesday.
"It consists of tent-like construction elements and it has been built from scratch," the organizing committee of the summits said in a report on the occasion. "This made it possible to fit out with everything that is necessary for reporters' normal activity."
The press center is located in the immediate vicinity of the Congress hall where the main functions of the summits will be held so as to make communications between participants in the summits and reporters easier, the organizing committee said. The tent constructions where journalists will work have a floor space of about 6,500 sq km.
A special pavilion on the press center compound has been allocated for radio and television companies. Besides, it has three halls for briefings, an exhibition hall, a medical station for emergency aid, a ten-slot reporters' stand for live broadcasting, the place for meetings of journalistic pools, and a restaurant.
Briefings and press conferences featuring Russian and foreign participants in the summits will be held in three halls. An exhibition titled Ufa and dedicated to the past, present and future of the host city will be displayed in a pavilion of the same name. It will have 3D panoramic models of the citya and will treat the visitors to a selection of historic photos, works of art and samples of technologic achievements made in the region of Bashkortostan.
The organizing committee officials stress that the center will work round the clock.
