Two gunmen involved in terrorist plots destroyed in Dagestan

Special services received information that the militants' so-called summer base was located in a forest area in the Kizlyar district, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee's press centre told TASS

MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. Two gunmen, members of the so-called Kizlyar gang involved in plotting terrorist attacks last autumn, were destroyed in Russia's North Caucasian republic of Dagestan.

Special services received information that the militants' so-called summer base was located in a forest area in the Kizlyar district, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee's press centre told TASS on Saturday.

"While scouring the forest between the villages of Nechayevka and Matseyevka, the Spetsnaz troops came under automatic fire. Two gunmen were neutralised as a result of shooting and pursuit which lasted almost 24 hours," it said. "Unfortunately, we cannot avoid losses among law enforcers - the Russian Interior Ministry's Internal Security Troops serviceman was killed.".
