MOSCOW, July 3. /TASS/. State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin says Washington politicians who claim Russia's isolation are "pathetic clowns".
"Russia’s isolation is just impossible and those high-ranking politicians in Washington who claim that they allegedly isolated Russia look like pathetic clowns," Naryshkin told a lower house session on Friday.
Over the last six months, Russia "has become witness to different events, including some very dramatic ones which recalled certain historical events," including economic crisis and the Cold War, he added.
"We saw once again that the world is fragile and not free from contradictions," the speaker noted, adding that "Russian society is always united when this unity is required to defend national interests."
