US should not impose legalization of same-sex marriages on others — lawmaker

"It’s their internal affair because they can do whatever they fancy on their territory but there’s no obtruding their fancies on other countries," Yelena Mizulina says

MOSCOW, June 26. /TASS/. Legalization of same-sex marriages in the US is an internal affair of that country but it should not be obtruded on other countries, Yelena Mizulina, the chairperson of the State Duma Committee for Family, Women and Children said on Friday.

"It’s their internal affair because they can do whatever they fancy on their territory but there’s no obtruding their fancies on other countries," said Mizulina who is known as a champion of traditional values of Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

Earlier on Friday, the US Supreme Court passed a resolution saying the registration of same-sex marriages did not stand at variance with US Constitution. At present, this type of marriages is prohibited only in fourteen states there.
