Medvedev: Former Prime Minister Primakov’s death great loss

Yevgeny Primakov was an authoritative statesman, outstanding Oriental scientist, a bright and extraordinary person, Medvedev said in a telegram published on the official governmental website

MOSCOW, June 26. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has conveyed condolences over Yevgeny Primakov’s death.

"The death of Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov is a great loss. Yevgeny Maksimovich was an authoritative statesman, outstanding Oriental scientist, a bright and extraordinary person," Medvedev said in a telegram published on the official governmental website on Friday.

The prime minister added that people who worked with Primakov noted his erudition, diplomatic talent and exceptional performance at work.

Former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov has died. Primakov, who consecutively headed the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), the Foreign Ministry and the government, was 85 years old.
