SOCHI, June 26. /TASS/. The police rescued in flooded Sochi over 250 people from blocked vehicles, flats on ground floors and from footbridges, the local police reported on Friday.
The police rushed into water, used special vehicles and even armoured vehicles.
"Near Adler, not far from the railway station, the police located about 70 people, blocked inside a footbridge. As the water level was raising, passengers from buses found shelter inside the footbridge and later on could not move on as the water flows were only growing," the police said. Policemen took off a decoration section and for two hours were carrying people from the dangerous place.
Besides, the police rescued two salesgirls, who had got on a closet in a flooded shop.
The police continue working in the city. They regulate the traffic, patrol the territory guaranteeing safety of residents’ personal belongings.
