MOSCOW, June 11. /TASS/. Russian and Egyptian warship crews have started naval maneuvers within combined force teams and drilled an "encounter sea battle," the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
"On June 11, crews of Russian and Egyptian warships involved in the Bridge of Friendship-2015 naval exercise started to fulfil tasks at sea within combined tactical naval groups," the ministry said.
By the break of day, after night joint drills of maneuvering, communication and coordination of actions, the combined tactical groups on the Joint Staff order started an encounter sea battle exercise, the Defense Ministry said.
In the coming day, the crews of the two navies will drill at-sea refuelling from tankers, conduct an operation for the search of a distressed ship at sea and its rescue.
