KRASNOYARSK, June 4. /TASS/. A record-breaking batch of drugs - 224 kilograms of marijuana - has been seized by the police in Russia’s Siberian Krasnoyarsk Territory, Anna Trutneva, a spokesperson for the local department of the Russian drug control service, told TASS on Thursday.

"Three wholesale dealers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia’s Kemerovo region wanted to sell it for 4.5 million roubles (82,800 U.S. dollars) or swap for a car," she said.

She said the undercover operation had taken two weeks. "The organizer of the sales of the drugs was detained near a cafй in the city of Achinsk. The police seized 12 big sacks of drugs from the dealer’s car," she said, adding that his accomplices had been arrested shortly after.

A criminal case was opened against the drug dealers, who were placed under arrest. The investigation is underway.
