Russian Foreign Ministry searching for student feared to be recruited by IS

MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/. The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday it is searching for a Moscow student allegedly recruited by the Islamic State terrorist group.

"The Foreign Ministry is working to establish the whereabouts of Varvara Karaulova via different channels, including its offices in Turkey," the ministry said on its Facebook page.

Varvara Karaulova, a 19-year old student of the Moscow State University, went missing on May 27 and later left for Istanbul.

Her family's lawyer said on Tuesday he believed the girl had been taken away from Russia by Islamic State recruiters.
