Russian Navy to show high-speed boats, combat swimmers’ operations at Army-2015 forum

MOSCOW, June 2. /TASS/. The Russian Navy will demonstrate fast-speed boats and armored personnel carriers in operation at the Army-2015 forum outside Moscow, Navy Commander Assistant for Military and Research Work, Captain 1st Rank Andrey Surov said on Tuesday.

The demonstration will be held at Komsomolskoye Lake of the Alabino testing range southwest of Moscow, he said.

The Navy will demonstrate the capabilities of BL-680 fast-speed boats and BTR-82AM APCs. The show program envisages the maneuvers of floating boats and combat vehicles, troops’ water crossing and the actions by combat swimmers to fight underwater subversion groups and hardware," the defense official told TASS.

The Army-2015 forum will also demonstrate advanced weaponry produced by enterprises under contracts with the Navy. The forum participants will see the latest BK-10 boats, BL-820 patrol boats, amphibious assault vessels, BL-680 amphibious caterpillar boats, KS-701 and KS-360 high mobility cutters, amphibious boats and the Typhoon robotic boat with a drone, Surov said.

Four pontoon links with wooden passes will be installed at the lake to facilitate visitors’ access to the exhibits, he said.

"As part of the static demonstration of the Navy’s armaments and hardware, the Forum will feature 4 naval aircraft and about 10 samples of products manufactured by defense enterprises," he said.

Army-2015 forum visitors will see at the Kubinka aerodrome the Ilyushin Il-38N anti-submarine aircraft with the Novella sensor system, the Sukhoi Su-30SM (NATO reporting name: Flanker-C) multipurpose fighter jet, Mikoyan MiG-29K (Fulcrum-D) deck-based fighter and the Kamov Ka-31R (Helix) radar surveillance and guidance helicopter, the Navy official said.

A static show of the Navy’s armaments and combat hardware operational in the coastal troops, along with search and rescue craft will be held at the Patriot Park.

"The show will feature the Bal 3S60 coastal missile system, and also the Marlin-350 remote controlled unmanned underwater craft, the BKD-120T compression chamber, the PRS-VM mobile recompression station, a set of the SVU-5 diving outfit and an amphibious boat," Surov said.

The Army-2015 forum will be held on June 16-19. According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, the event will involve about 500 defense producers, which will feature over 5,000 exhibits.
