MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Russia’s eastern military district will conduct 40 large-scale exercises this summer, the district’s spokesman, Colonel Aleksandr Gordeyev, told the media on Monday. Some of the exercises will be international.
"All in all the units of the eastern military district during the summer training period will be involved in 40 large-scale tactical, special and flight exercises. One in three will be held in unfamiliar terrain," Gordeyev said.
The Russian-Mongolian exercise Selenga-2015, due at the Tsugol test site in Trans-Baikalia, will be the most important of all.
Joint assault crossing and landing of a tactical force will be practiced for the first time.
