Russian military take part in anti-terror exercise in Tajikistan

According to the military representative, the manoeuvres involved about 100 equipment units

MOSCOW, May 21. /TASS/. More than 500 Russian and Tajikistani troops have conducted manoeuvres to block and destroy imaginary militants in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Russian Central Military District commander’s aide Yaroslav Roshchupkin said on Thursday.

According to him, the manoeuvres involved about 100 equipment units. The aerial reconnaissance and support was provided by the Russian helicopters Mi-8 and Mi-24, as well as the Granat, Zastava and Forpost drones.

"The troops successfully fulfilled the common approach tactics exercise mission to combat illegal armed groups, drilling joint tactical operations with the use of helicopters and drones, the integration of communication and command and control systems," Roshchupkin said.
