Shanghai Cooperation Organization ministers to discuss common transport system formation

Development of cooperation in the sphere of motor, railroad and air transport, as well as commissioning of new transport infrastructure, are expected to be discussed at the meeting

UFA, May 15. /TASS/. The transport ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states will discuss establishment of a SCO common transport system, the Russian Transportation Ministry told TASS.

"Development of cooperation in the sphere of motor, railroad and air transport, as well as commissioning of new transport infrastructure, are expected to be discussed at the meeting" that will be held in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan in Russia's Volga Federal District, the ministry said.

Seventeen delegations led by ministers of SCO members - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, SCO observer states - Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan, dialogue partners - Belarus, Turkey, Sri Lanka and heads of regional international organizations and interstate integration associations will arrive in Ufa.
