MOSCOW, May 10. /TASS/. The Years of Youth Exchanges between Russia and Germany will be held in 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday after talks with visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"I think this initiative is very important as it looks to the future," he said.
"A chill in bilateral relations has told on business relations but there are areas, which continue to develop. One of such areas is interregional cooperation." He said 23 Russian regions were maintaining stable relations with Germany’s 13 states. A large-scale conference of twin cities is expected to be held in Germany in late June.
