MOSCOW, May 9. /TASS/. The European Union cannot dictate conditions about Serbia’s cooperation with Russia, Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolic said in an interview with the Russian Rossiya 24 television channel on Friday.
"Serbia will never damage relations with the Russian Federation even for the sake of becoming a member of the European Union," Nikolic said. "And the European Union cannot impose any conditions on Serbia regarding its suspension of cooperation with Russia."
Russia is an economic partner for lots of European countries, Nikolic said. "So the current conflict between the European Union and the Russian Federation is made-up and it just complicates and worsens the life of people both in Russia and in Europe.".
