MOSCOW, May 6. /TASS/. State Duma committee for security and counteraction to corruption is drafting proposals for the Russian Security Council on updating the National Security Strategy through to 2020, committee chairperson Irina Yarovaya said on Wednesday.
She said a revision of certain articles of the document was needed in what concerned the rise of new threats to the country’s security in the field of information, foodstuffs, biology and technologies.
To combat the rising new threats efficiently, it is important to build up the potential and to harmonize approaches to them in the format of the CIS Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Yarovaya believes that informational sovereignty of the country acquires particular significance today.
"The setting up of cyber-troops by a number of countries signals the arrival of new parameters of defining security and new types of threats," she said. "This in turn implies new forms of protection, which should be included in the Information Security Doctrine.".
