MOSCOW, May 1. /TASS/. More than 3 million people have taken part in events dedicated to May 1, when Russia marks Spring and Labor Day, in the country, the Russian Interior Ministry said Friday.
"According to the Interior Ministry data, some 3,000 events devoted to Spring and Labor Day took place in over 1,500 cities and inhabited localities of the Russian Federation, with over 3 million people participating," the ministry said.
"Overall, more than 64,000 Interior Ministry officers, over 5,000 Interior Ministry troops were employed to ensure public order and security across the country," it said.
Concerts, folk festivals and sports events continue in big Russian cities. Police officers and Interior Ministry troops keep ensuring public order.
