MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. Religion is more important to Muslims than law, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Thursday.

"Islam is most important to us. More important than laws," Kadyrov said in an interview with Govorit Moskva radio station.

"According to Islam, if a state allows [Muslims] to pray, study the Quran and build Mosques, you should protect this state," he said.

Kadyrov often stressed the necessity to protect Muslim values. "We should show people that Islam is not a threat to society but its safety," he said.
