Almost 700 young Russians decide to take up army service on contract at promo action

The Armed Forces officials selected the 300,000th contract servicemen at Saturday’s action

St PETERSBURG, April 25. /TASS/. Almost 700 people who visited a promo action ‘Military Service on Contract Is Your Choice’ that was held here on Saturday have made known their willingness to take up the Army and Navy contract offerings, Gen Viktor Goremykin, the chief of the Russian Defence Ministry’s main department for the cadres told reporters.

All in all, more than 25,000 people attended the action and the air show that was timed for it.

"Almost 7,800 people visited information desks and the enlistment eligibility office," he said. "More than 1,700 individuals came right away to the enlistment office and 695 individuals confirmed their wish to take up contracts."

The Armed Forces officials selected the 300,000th contract servicemen at Saturday’s action. He will be assigned to the Marine Corps.
