St PETERSBURG, April 25. /TASS/. Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force, Gen Viktor Bondarev, will take part in the overflight of Air Force jets over Moscow’s Red Square that is part of the VE-Day parade, traditionally held across Russia on May 9.

Specifically, he will fly aboard a Tupolev-160 supersonic strategic bomber.

As he attended a promotion event devoted to Army service on contract, Gen Bondarev said: "We’re a hundred percent ready for the parade" that is expected to be particularly impressive this year.

"There’ll be 143 jets and helicopters and I’ll fly at the head of the squadron on a Tupolev-160," he said.

Several training sessions, including the one over Moscow will be held prior to May 9.
