MOSCOW, April 25. /TASS/. Two wildfires have been localized in Russia’s Trans-Baikal region after Ilyushin-76 aircraft of the Defence Ministry dumped 126 tons of water outside the city of Chita, the ministry’s press service reports on Saturday.
Mi-8 helicopters flew over the area to confirm that the fires had been localized.
About 15 planes and more than 80 helicopters of the emergencies ministry are on standby, ready to help putting out wildfires in the region, make air reconnaissance and airlift specialists to hard-of-access areas.
