MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. A significant Christian relic, the ark with the right hand of St. George, has been delivered to Moscow from Mount Athos, northern Greece, ahead of the celebrations of the 70th anniversaty of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany, the press service of the Russian Orthodox Church said on Friday.
"The arrival of the relic in this jubilee year will help unite Russians by their joint prayer for peace," the press service said.
The ark with the right hand of St.George, the holy patron of warriors and Moscow, will be taken on a two-month tour of Russian hero cities of Smolensk, Tula, Orel, St. Petersburg, etc.
St. George slaying the Dragon is depicted on Moscow's coat of arms.
