MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov and UN Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Ezzelddin Ramzy have confirmed that Russia and the United Nations are focused on coordination of efforts aimed at resolving the Syria crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"[Both men] held a motivated and constructive exchange of views on prospects for resolving the crisis in Syria on the basis of the Geneva communique of June 30, 2012 with the accent on the steps undertaken under the UN auspices to organise consultations with the sides involved aimed at resuming the overwhelming political process," the ministry said.
"The sides have confirmed their motivation to continue coordination of efforts for long-term peaceful settlement of the Syria crisis, taking into regard results of the intra-Syrian consultations held in Moscow as well," it said.
