"Over the past 24 hours, as many as 14 wildfires with an overall area of more than 90 hectares have been extinguished. Only one wildfire has not yet been put out. The fire was caused by agricultural burning," the agency’s press secretary Alexandra Yegorova said.
Since the beginning of this year’s wildfire season in early April, as many as 222 wildfires have been reported on an area of more than 9,300 hectares.
An emergency situation regime was imposed in Buryatia’s forests from April 15. Access to forests has been banned.
