Moscow hopes for pullback of under-100mm caliber arms in eastern Ukraine

Russia’s initiative for pullback of weapons with calibers under 100mm and tanks received support at the Normandy Four’s foreign ministers' meeting a year ago

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Russia hopes for pullback of under-100mm caliber weapons and tanks from the disengagement line in eastern Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.

"At the Normandy quartet’s foreign ministers' meeting a year ago Russia’s initiative for pullback of weapons with calibers under 100mm and tanks received support," he said. "The parties’ military representatives must agree the procedures and deadlines with assistance from the OSCE."

"We do hope that the pullback will take place," he added." "The pullback of these types of weapons will ease the risk of ceasefire violations."
