Putin to visit Siberian region hit by wildfires — Kremlin

The president wants "to oversee wildfire relief measures," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to visit Siberia's Republic of Khakassia, which recently suffered from wildfires, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

The president wants "to oversee wildfire relief measures," Peskov said giving no details of the upcoming trip.

Peskov's said the trip's agenda would be announced later.

Thirty people died in mid-April in the wildfires in Khakassia, which left some 4,700 people homeless. The wildfire damages are preliminary estimated at over 7 billion roubles (more than $138 million).
