MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Three Russian Defense Ministry An-124 and Il-76 military transport aircraft have delivered from Novosibirsk to Abakan, the capital of the Russian republic of Khakassia, 96 metric tons of the most required equipment and foodstuffs for residents affected by fires, the ministry said Saturday.

"Overall, more than 100 army tents, 100 furnaces for warming, 20,000 meals ready to eat, sleeping bags, field baths, mobile power plants and other necessary stuff were delivered for residents of the republic's affected regions," it said.

Strong winds that hit Khakassia in Siberia on April 12 became one of the reasons for large-scale fires in the republic. Fire damaged 1,328 private houses, 4,694 people were left homeless. Thirty people died, two are missing.
