MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. Russia will boost the potential of its military bases abroad as guarantors of security in the regions housing them, Russia’s Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov told the 4th international security conference in Moscow on Thursday.

"As part of the long-term agreements with Abkhazia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and South Ossetia, the potential of Russia's military bases located on their territories is being boosted. It guarantees security and strategic stability in these regions," Gerasimov said.
