Two killed, 20 injured as bus, train collide in Russia’s Leningrad region

A criminal case has been opened into the violation of traffic rules and the vehicles operation that resulted in the deaths of people

ST.PETERSBURG, April 15. /TASS/. Two people were killed and another 20 were injured when a bus and a diesel train collided in the Vyborgsky district of the Leningrad region on Wednesday, the local traffic police said.

The accident occurred at noon at a railway station in the village of Glebychevo. A criminal case has been opened into the violation of traffic rules and the vehicles operation that resulted in the deaths of people.

This is the second major crash in the Leningrad region in recent days. On Saturday, a minibus carrying a sports team from an orphanage to a sports festival, collided with a truck near the town of Pikalevo. The driver of the minibus and two children died and another nine children were injured.
